Halloween Night

It is 6pm Halloween night. I have rushed home from work to a dinner ready and waiting. We have just finished our last mouthful and the door-bell begins to ring. Here it comes... the onslaught! Fortunately we are armed and ready. Everyone to their post!

Some decorations from the neighbourhood

My mop ladies escort in the would be trick-or-treaters.

This house across the street always has amazing pumpkins. Here we have Mrs Doubtfire next to her buddy Frankenstein.
For those that know it, this is the Alligator house, always the best and the wittiest decorations. Not a great picture but it is worth the explanation... This year we have Mr. and Mrs. looking quite undistinguishable one from another - they both have long matted hair and faces that have seen way too much beer and cigarettes. They are in some sort of hunter's shack. They are sleeping with a deer between them, each dreaming -  one of a doll, one of Tin-tin's adventures and one of baby deer horns. One of the sleeping figures does manage to get an arm up to place a treat into the basket of the brave children that make it there. I am sure that that arm is sore today as there was an unrelenting line of willing trick-or-treaters.

Some fun with our elected officials! Not partisan, there was also a 'solution montréal' poster equally adorned.

Les trois grâces...?

Magnifique! It looks to be Tintin in America from what I can make out of the dream. How extraordinary. Halloween in Oxford was most tame by comparison. We're holding out for more excitement on Guy Fawkes Day.
