Wilson Creek Falls

 Four forest nymphs.

Pick-nickers in the Wilson Creek mist.
 Serious meditator with paparazzi.
You can't see the falls quite but they arrive just behind this rock. You can probably almost hear the roar!
This was a percussion concert that Molly, Lily and Alice performed right beside the falls... We could almost hear them!

Eric in Lemon Creek

Eric and I had a marvellous day out to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary. We canoed down the Slocan river from Slocan to Lemon Creek (about 8km) and then ran back to get the car along the old railway grade. So nice! It was very tempting here at the mouth of Lemon Creek to carry on down the river but we had been warned against it as there are rapids and log jams along the way. So we contented ourselves with wading across Lemon Creek. The Slocan river is very impressive right here, there is a huge amount of water moving quickly through a tight passage.

A fish called Alice

The lake was exceptionally high when we first arrived but strangely it was also warm - it would normally be frigid at this time of year especially with the water so high. A bit spooky but very nice for little and big swimmers. Both Alice and Lily can swim this year which makes the water all the more fun to be in. Now this is summertime!

Sister Power

Lily and Alice spent their first weeks at the ranch practically joined at the hip in sleep and play. Here, with the help of Mama's rain coat they are being real pretend siamese twins.

Walk to Evans Creek

This is hardly representative of our lovely walk along the west shore of Slocan lake but you can see some of the lovely moss and the most interesting of the many mushrooms that we saw along the way. Lily and I were counting varieties of mushroom but we gave up counting at 17. The trail winds up and down along the lake shore between the tress and flanked by luxurious moss.

Last play in Montreal

Lily and best friend Anäelle had a last play in Montreal before our departure. Here they are dressed as in "l'ancien temps". Very elegant!

The spirit of competition

The annual school race. I think that this picture captures well our dear Alice's competitive nature!!

lunch at the sea shore

ON our last day Helge took all the gals out for lunch at the sea shore. There is no beach here just a pile of volcanic rocks with scantily dressed sun bathers strewn about as best they can. I-Fen is a champion eater! HEre she is eating the fish's head which she cleaned down to the last bone.

The many doors to our home

I never could count all the doors that we had to get through to get into our room in Catania. Here are most of them.

Not all play

So you don't get the wrong idea... We had two shows our three days in Catania and most of our time was actually spent in the studio and the theatre.  A nice studio though.

Catania's colourful market

Yes, these are live snails. They seem to be constantly escaping from their baskets only to be put back from time to time by the stall keeper as if they were naughty children.

Quite an array of recently live sea creatures. I can not provide the smell that goes with the scene... you will have to imagine it but not too vividly or you may get queezy as I did!

more Catania

You can see Mt Ednea. This is the active volcano the overlooks Catania. It is an exciting and much revered presence in the city with a constant stream of smoke and very often fire spitting into the sky.
Not so bad... life on tour sometimes!!
Beautiful Catania!

Catania

The last days of my German adventure were not spent in Germany but in Catania, Sicily. What a marvellous place to end! We had 3 days there with 2 shows so there was little time for exploring but just being was lovely. Theses are the views north and south from our hotel window.

This is the room that I shared with I-Fen. Notice the different packing styles! I have never seen such a tidy person as my new friend I-Fen.
Peter and I-Fen in front of our hotel.
Chicken at the market... head feet and all!

This has been my view for the last two and a half months.

Our Dépanneur

This is was one of Peter's hang-outs in Bremen. We became friends with this man who was in his sop day and night across the street from us on Buntentorsteinweg.
