Louisiana Museaum

On Flor's recommendation, I spent our last day in Copenhagen off at the Louisiana Museum. It turns out that they have an exposition on right now called 'Eye Attack' which is exploring artists of the 50's and 60's who were exploring the effect of colour and shape on the eye and on our sense of perception which is exactly what we are doing in PRISMES. The coincidence seemed too amazing to miss so I took the 40 min train ride up along the coast to this magical spot.

Richard Serra. One of my favourite from Bilbao. I love his big slabs of metal imbedded in the land.

Serra and the Sea

I don't remember who the artist is for this white square but it also speaks beautifully with the sea.

This is the poster piece of the eye attack exhibit by UK artist Brigitte Riley. I could spend hours in front of this black and white creation.  I don't know if it will work as well on the screen but if you look at it for a while you see all sorts of colours appearing and the volumes of lines seem to reach in to and out of the canvas. The lines also dance about if you move your eyes. Riley spent years only painting in black and white but it is amazing how much colour appears in her works.
