Along with 250,000 other people, we all walked from the Place des Festivals downtown to the Mont-Royal Park in support of Earth Day and to send a message to our governments that a healthy planet is a priority, over and above economic imperatives and industrial multi-national agendas. Louis, Louise, Raphaël, Charlotte came from Sherbrooke, along with Sita, a good friend of Charlotte's. Paul-Antoine was present of course, with Paula, Émile, Camille and their dog Mateus. Muriel, Alice, Lily and I had joined up with Marie-Claude who brought our heart-shaped sign to signal to all our friends and Qi Gong students that they could find us and join us if they wished. Several of them did.
Lily was very keen about the marching and the protesting. She and her best friend Annaëlle had prepared their own signs, complete with drawings and political messages, which they got properly plastic-coated.
First thing Lily, and her acolyte Alice, did when we got home from the march, was protest ! They didn't want to have a bath, so a sign saying NO BATH! was quickly produced and posted on their bedroom door with the prohibition to enter. Meo patiently managed to negociate a 10 minute-bath with no shampoo...!
