Hartmut - a good and long time friend of Dad, spent a day with me in Berlin. He took me to the Pergamon exhibit where we saw an amazing reproduction of ancient Pergamon but what Hartmut really loves is his country side out of Berlin so after the exhibit he took me to lunch in 'his' chateau in what was Eastern Germany and then to his town - Beetz, where he used to own a farm house and still knows everyone. Here is Hartmut in the very grand and, on the day we were there, very empty dining room. The chateau is called Schloss Ziethen.
Hartmut's primulas and chateau. These primroses Hartmut transfered here from the botanical garden in Berlin where he used to be head gardener. He thinks that this is a hybrid that developed it's self during his time there.
